“Full of old world charm.”
Just finished a five-night hiking holiday at "The Old House" with three of my adult children. The house is in a perfect location in the village center, and is full of old world charm. It is the quintessential Swiss Alps house with all the modern conveniences. The owner met us at the train station, which is only a five-minute walk from the house, and gave us a thorough overview of the house and its history. In every respect, The Old House itself was a significant and very positive element of our hiking holiday. I have no reservations in recommending it to anyone contemplating a visit to Zermatt and who is looking for a thoroughly modern "old world" living experience. — Harry, US.

My wife, twenty year old daughter and I stayed at Marcus's place for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The pictures are accurate and the home is very well equipped and recently renovated to a high standard. The location is excellent in the old town within an easy walk to the train station and buses to the glacier lifts. Excellent views of the Matterhorn from the 2nd floor sitting room. Marcus was a great host, readily available by phone he provided good advise on dinning, hiking and things to do when we were not skiing. Check-in and checkout was very easy and flexible. Would highly recommend Marcus's place for both summer and winter stays in Zermatt. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The Old House is finished to a very high standard with all the mod cons whilst maintaining the charm of an old building. The location and view of the Matterhorn are second to none.

“The view was excellent in the mornings the location could not have been better positioned”
We stayed at the Old House as a short winter break and I can say with complete confidence that the property was as described, if not better. It was fully equipped with the added bonus of SONOS in every room. The property was always warm and provided more than enough space for all our belongings. The view was excellent in the mornings and the location could not have been better positioned, basically positioned between the 2 best hotels in town. Marcus was a brilliant host and spent 30 mins, the morning after our arrival, describing all that Zermatt had to offer. Overall we had a great time in Zermatt and this was improved by the Old House and its very helpful owner.

The apartment has a great location and is perfect for 4 guests! The loft with the view to Matterhorn is impeccable and the kitchen and dining area is perfect not only for breakfasts, but also for cooking your own dinner if you would prefer a cozy meal in front of the fireplace.
